Please read this before using any Scheál product or booking a treatment. It is written in plain language on purpose, so there is no fine print to miss.

1. We are not your doctor

Everything on this website, in our emails and on our social media is general skincare information and personal experience. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for seeing a licensed physician or dermatologist. Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you have a skin condition, a medical condition, or any concern about your skin, please talk with your doctor first.

2. Results vary

The before-and-after photos and reviews on this site are from real clients, shared with their permission, and have not been retouched. They show what happened for those people. Skin is personal, and your results will depend on your skin, your habits, how consistently you use the products, and many things we cannot see or control. We cannot promise any particular result, and no statement on this site should be read as a guarantee.

3. Allergies: please read the label

Our products are made from plants, and plants can cause allergic reactions. Every product lists its full ingredients on the product page and on the jar. Before you buy, please check them against anything you know you react to. In particular:

• Tree nuts and nut-derived oils. Some products contain walnut shell, coconut oil, tamanu and other nut- or seed-derived oils. If you have a nut allergy, please read each ingredient list carefully and ask us before using.
• Essential oils and botanicals. Products may contain rose, chamomile, ylang ylang, rosemary, tea tree, frankincense, myrrh, cassia and other plant extracts. These are natural and can still irritate sensitive skin.
• Willow bark. Some Clear Skin products contain white willow bark, a natural source of salicylates. If you are allergic to aspirin or salicylates, do not use those products.

4. Using the products as intended

Our products are for external use only, on intact skin, and should be used as directed on the label and product page. Keep them out of the eyes and out of reach of children. Do not use on broken, infected or sunburned skin. Scheál Organics is not responsible for reactions or damage that result from using a product other than as directed, from combining it with prescription treatments, peels, retinoids or other active products without a professional's guidance, from over-use, or from ignoring a reaction once it has started. If something hurts, burns or stings beyond a mild tingle, take it off and contact us.

5. Sun, pregnancy and medications

Some botanical ingredients can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Please wear sunscreen daily when using our products, especially the Clear Skin line. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on prescription skin medication (including isotretinoin, tretinoin or oral antibiotics), or being treated for any medical condition, please check with your doctor before starting a new skincare routine, including ours.

6. Freshness and storage

Scheál products are made in small batches with minimal preservatives, which is why they work and also why they do not last forever. Keep jars closed, cool and out of direct sun, use clean fingers or a spatula, and use each product within the time shown on the label. Changes in color, scent or texture over time are normal for fresh plant-based products; if a product ever smells off or shows mold, discard it and let us know.

7. Spa treatments

Treatments at The Spa are provided by licensed professionals and are wellness and cosmetic services, not medical care. Please tell us before your appointment about any allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy, recent procedures, prescription skin medications, or anything else that could affect your treatment. Some services are not appropriate during pregnancy, with certain conditions, or shortly after cosmetic procedures, and we may decline or adjust a service for your safety. Treatment results vary from person to person.

8. Recommendations and affiliate links

Our Christina Recommends page links to products made and sold by other companies. Those products are not made by Scheál Organics, and their makers are responsible for their own claims, safety and quality. Statements about dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and those products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Talk with your doctor before starting any supplement.

9. Information on this site

We work hard to keep this website accurate, but we make no warranty that every statement is complete, current or error-free. Ingredient sourcing, formulas and pricing can change with the seasons and with availability. The ingredient information on our Ingredients page describes traditional and general cosmetic uses of plants and is offered for education, not as medical claims about any Scheál product.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scheál Organics, its owner and its staff are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from the use or misuse of our products, treatments or website, or from reliance on any information here.
